We would like to welcome our first employee, Claire Wallace, to the ranks at Emil Erwin. We are excited to have someone join our team that is enthusiastic about creating quality products and is committed to superior craftsmanship. And she is my sister.

Our friends at Imogene and Willie do it again...
Today, Imogene and Willie is celebrating their one year anniversary. Unfortunately we are missing the celebration, but we are their in spirit. It is astonishing what I+W has become and the lives it has touched in its first year. They are featured on the cover of Free & Easy, a Japanese magazine dedicated to Americana, and listed as one the the 21 southerners to watch. I am anxious to see what is to come for them and excited to work on more collaborations. We are working on a couple of ideas at present and hope to have picture shortly.
Regards,
Emil

Trip to Horween Tannery in Chicago
Great trip to Horween in Chicago. This is a great company, now on the 5th generation of leather masters. This is one of the few American tanneries still in operation, as most have closed or moved overseas. They take their time and do it right. It is truly a great American Company providing companies like Emil Erwin with a great American product. Thanks to Nick Horween for the tour and the Deep Dish.
Short clip of these massive tanning barrels at work. This is the process for bluing the hides, the step after they have been stripped of hair.
